Interested in learning the basic skills of ice hockey in one of the most beautiful places on earth? The historic Yosemite Winter Club Hockey Program will be teaching basic hockey skills for the 2016-2017 winter season. An outdoor portable ice rink, just below Half Dome, is scheduled to open mid-November. Scrimmage nights will be available for those who have completed the basic skills program. For those who already have strong skating skills, a performance test can be completed within one or two nights.
Basic Hockey lessons will be every Wednesday, 6-7 pm.
You must be at least 5 years old at the time of sign up, be able to skate forward in control and be a member of the Yosemite Winter Club. Hockey players will also need to provide their own hockey skates, full face, helmet, gloves and a stick for classes. Other gear may be required as students advance. Hockey skates are available for rent.
Scrimmage nights will be every Tuesday, Thursday from 6-7 pm
Those who completed last year’s Hockey Program can sign-up for Scrimmage Nights as well: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, excluding holidays.

Half Dome Village Ice Rink:
Half Dome Village Ice Rink will be relocated to a new location in the Half Dome Village Parking lot. The new portable rink will be quite smaller in size than in previous years. However, the smaller size will certainly not deter from the amazing experience of skating outdoors below the moonlit shadow of Yosemite's iconic Half Dome. Hockey and skating enthusiasts can warm up with hot cocoa and s'mores at the rink's fire pit whilst waiting for the Zamboni to smooth the ice for their next skating adventures.
